Who is BOXT?
BOXT were the first online only boiler installation company and because a large part of the process has been digitised they have a much lower cost base than many of their traditional competitors; which means they can install the same boiler but charge a lower cost. BOXT charge from £1,499 to over £5,000 for new boiler installation. BOXT were set up by ex-directors of Help-Link to become the Uber of the boiler installation industry. In fact their head office in Leeds is next door to that of Help-Link. Worcester Bosch (Robert Bosch Uk Holdings Limited) took a 45% stake of the business in 2017.
How Does BOXT work?
The process is fairly straight forward and the website is intuitive and easy to use. Instead of booking an appointment for a surveyor to come to your home and assess the right boiler for your home you simply answer some dynamic questions on the BOXT website which will select a shortlist of recommended boiler packages for you. They are really good at straight forward jobs, especially swapping an old combination boiler for a new one in the same location. As the complexity of the job increases beyond the capabilities of the website you are asked to call them to discuss with an engineer over the phone. You purchase your new boiler online and it’s delivered to your door, essentially a boiler in a box. The engineer turns up on the day you booked and installers your new boiler, now that’s BOXT clever!
BOXT (not Boxed) Boilers Price Promise
BOXT have a price promise, where the will try to beat all like-for-like quotes, and if they can’t will give customers a £50 Amazon voucher.
What Boilers does BOXT Install?
BOXT only install natural Gas and LPG boilers. If you have an oil powered boiler, electric boiler, bio fuel boiler or no central heating at all BOXT can’t help you and you need to find another boiler installer. BOXT can help you if your existing boiler is a combi boiler, a standard boiler (also known as conventional or regular boilers), a system boiler or a back boiler.
BOXT interactive boiler cost calculator
Once you have chosen your existing system type you get asked a series of dynamic questions based your previous answers to identify your requirements and calculate your quotes. You will be charged more if you want to move the location of your new boiler, it’s +£150 for a new location in the same room, +£300 to move to most other rooms and +£500 to move it to the loft or attic (plus you’ll need a ladder and light already installed).

The questions determine the type of property you live in, the floor the boiler is on and the heating and hot water requirements you have and where the flue currently comes out of your property. There are then some safety and regulatory related questions to ensure putting the new boiler in the current location still fits with the current regulations. upon answering all the questions you are then presented with a short list of recommended boiler packages to choose from.

Latest BOXT Combi Boiler Prices
BOXT combi boiler prices start at £1,875, this is for an Ideal Espirit Eco2 24kW installed in the same location as the old boiler with a horizontal flue. It also includes safe removal and disposal of your old boiler, a MagnaCleanse system flush to remove grime from your system, an Adey MC1+ filter, a 2 year warranty, free wireless thermostat and timer and any gas and condensate pipework if required. You can upgrade the controls to a Nest (+£150) or a Hive (+£198).
BOXT also install Worcester Bosch Combi boilers with prices ranging from £2,145 up to £4,415. All these prices are for the cheapest jobs, a straight swap of old combi boiler for a new combi boiler installed in the same location.

BOXT Boiler Finance and Payment Options
BOXT offer finance packages on new boiler installs through their finance partner Divido. Fully built into the online journey you have the option to apply for finance in the online checkout once you have selected your boiler. The online finance application is filled in online and a decision made by the finance provider, usually instantly, upon which you finish checking out on the BOXT site and that’s that.
Finance plans are available over 5 or 10 years and have a representative APR of 10.9%. You can choose to put down no deposit up to a maximum of 50% or anywhere in between. As many boiler installations are not considered purchases choosing a finance package is often a popular option.
